Health Director-General Patrick Amoth said the patient had been isolated and was being prepared for treatment using monoclonal antibodies, which have reportedly shown positive results among previously confirmed patients. The latest infection follows four additional cases announced on Saturday, including a relative of the first patient and three healthcare workers who had attended to him in hospital.

Amoth has urged Kenyans to avoid spreading misinformation about the outbreak, warning that public cooperation is essential in containing the disease. He explained that the risk of community transmission from recently identified cases was considered low because the individuals were not showing symptoms while in the community. The government is working with international partners, including the World Health Organization, the United States government and AMREF, to strengthen its response. Kenya confirmed its first Ebola case on October 6, involving a man who had been living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

By Cynthia Kituku Kenya has confirmed its eighth Ebola case involving a 49-year-old man who…

[4

post-648","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-health
["GET
