A truck driver has reportedly died following a multiple-vehicle crash at Salgaa along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on Saturday afternoon.
The collision occurred near Simba Cement, where several vehicles were involved, according to reports from the scene.
Police and emergency response teams were deployed to the area to assist those affected and manage traffic.
The crash caused significant disruption on the busy highway, with traffic building up as emergency operations continued.
Initial reports indicated that the driver of one of the trucks involved in the crash had died, while the truck’s turnboy survived.
However, authorities had not released an official figure for the total number of people killed or injured by the time of publication.
The Local Drivers and Conductors Association (LODDCA) issued a road-safety alert following the crash, urging motorists travelling through the area to slow down and exercise caution.

Motorists using the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway were advised to approach the affected section carefully as emergency teams worked to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow.
Salgaa has a long history of serious road crashes. A previous major accident near the area in August 2024 involved a passenger bus and several other vehicles, killing 13 people and injuring 55 others, according to police reports cited at the time.
